IoT: Internet of Things
Services of our national internet of things network
With our IoT LoRaWAN network, you can connect devices, sensors, meters, and other features to your application or system while you are out and about. Get real-time data even from previously inaccessible locations. Have a complete IoT solution designed, implemented, and operated for you, even with non-standard features.Everything you need to run the IoT and integrate it into your environment
IoT ecosystem
The foundation of the entire ecosystem is our IoT network built on the LoRaWAN technology, to which you connect the devices and sensors with which you need to communicate remotely. The self-service IoT Portal, part of our IoT cloud, is used for management. It can, among other things, analyse the data collected and send it to applications.

More detailed information
LoRa stands for ‘Long Range’. It is an open, low-power, two-way IoT transmission technology working over long distances. It is used by IoT devices in more than a hundred countries around the world.
It uses radio waves in free, so-called ‘licence-exempt’ frequency bands for transmission. In the Czech Republic today, nearly 20,000 stationary and mobile sensors are connected to our LoRaWAN network. They are used for smart energy metering, as monitoring tools in supply chains, for smart agriculture, various Industry 4.0 solutions, and for many other applications.
It does not make sense to compare individual technologies with one another because the strength of IoT is in their combination. They can exist side by side, complementing each other. There is potential for immense synergies.
Future IoT systems will combine diverse communication technologies. That is why it is good to start taking advantage of those synergies today. LoRa is, above all, very energy-efficient. Another advantage is standardisation. LoRa is standardised and we add our standard to it, so that subsequent reception and processing of the information is greatly simplified for the recipient of the message.
We have 1,500 gateways across the Czech Republic, covering practically its entire territory. And we install more if they are needed by someone. Unlike Sigfox, LoRa works even when the IoT device is in motion.
Another advantage of LoRa compared to other technologies is its geolocation ability. Our gateways have GPS tags and take GPS time. The network is thus able to calculate from where the device is transmitting. Nothing changes in the device, it does not even know that its location is being detected. The accuracy is in the tens of metres and is fully adequate, for example, for detecting the position of containers. Other statistical aids make it possible to calculate a position even more precisely.
In some large cities, ‘deep indoor coverage’ can be used to measure directly in places with poorer signal penetration, e.g., in sewer or water lines.
Two-way transmission makes it possible to not only transmit data from sensors, but also to control the devices, update their firmware, and much more. Unlike other technologies, LoRa also makes it possible to communicate with devices that are in motion.
Thanks to our own IoT certification, you can choose from a number of reliable sensors for measuring and reading a variety of variables. The devices excel in terms of low energy consumption and can operate for several years. You can also rent detectors and sensors from us.
IoT cloud allows you to make the most of messages (data) from your devices. The IoT cloud receives them and can store, process, or forward them to your applications.
The increasing complexity of IoT solutions requires a combination of many different technologies. Companies, enterprises, and organisations, however, rarely have profound knowledge or expertise capable of leveraging all of the capabilities offered by the IoT.
To relieve you of the need to know all the technical details and to best integrate solutions into your environment, we have moved from connectivity services to project services and offer the unique service of designing, implementing, and operating complex IoT solutions.
