A broad range of uses for CRA’s IoT solution – tracking storage conditions at Fresenius Medical Care as well as Plzeňský Prazdroj

CRA’s IoT and LoRaWAN networks are targeting various areas, currently, for example, healthcare and the food industry. At Fresenius Medical Care, a company that offers medications and treatment methods for patients with kidney disorders, we have launched a solution designed to monitor the storage conditions in coolers. Plzeňský Prazdroj monitors humidity and temperature in its regional distribution warehouses, where it stores barrels, crates, and cans with beer.

“What helps our customers the most is automation of activities for which they had to allocate staff capacity in the past,” says CRA’s Sales Director Miloš Mastník. “This way, they can focus on other activities, which saves the company time and other personnel costs. That, after all, is the purpose of the entire sphere of IoT – to automate – thereby reducing the cost of activities that have previously not been possible without a human hand,” adds Miloš Mastník

The solution for measuring temperature and humidity in warehousing and cooling facilities is based on sensors with external probes. Using the IoT of the CRA LoRaWAN network, the sensors send data to the Tanix application in which they are processed and assessed, and graphs, charts, logs, and reports are generated. By those means, adherence to prescribed storage conditions can be checked and documented in the Tanix application, but also escalation matrices are generated and information about non-standard conditions sent to the responsible persons. The incident resolution process can be reviewed retrospectively.

Sensors can be grouped based on premises, their locations can be recorded, cleaning and servicing of individual premises can be planned, and data can be exported in various formats. All data is automatically backed up.

Such a solution is suitable for all facilities where the monitoring of storage conditions is required or desirable.

The CRA LoRaWAN network offers two-way operation and the possibility to send up to 1,000 messages from each device every day.
