How to get quality IT infrastructure for a start-up or a small enterprise?

How to get quality IT infrastructure for a start-up or a small enterprise?

The Cloud makes it possible to build IT infrastructure within minutes without having to acquire a single piece of hardware.

Reality versus cloud

IT infrastructure is required for running company applications. This means a space with servers, data stores, and other equipment, and all that connected to the corporate network on the one side and usually to the Internet on the other. In order to be able to run the applications a company uses, operating or other operational systems must run on their servers. The premises must be prepared, and servers and equipment purchased, connected, configured, secured, maintained, and operated. Not every company can afford that, let alone one that is just starting out.

The Cloud makes it possible to build IT infrastructure within minutes without having to acquire a single piece of hardware. Virtual servers and other devices are put together in the appropriate configuration via a web portal, they are assigned the desired properties, are linked to virtual networks as required, operational systems are installed, and everything is linked to the internet. The client also uses the services of a virtual IT infrastructure securely via the internet or a data network. He installs his applications and has things taken care of.

What should a proper cloud do?

  • Function without interruption and be available any time.
  • Be accessible from anywhere (naturally, the internet or a data network must be available at the site.
  • Charge solely for the services used.
  • Enable fast and easy addition or reduction of resources, based on current need (naturally, within reasonable limits agreed in advance).
  • Be programmable and automatable, in order that it can be easily linked to other technologies or platforms.

CRA Business Cloud

The high-performing infrastructure cloud of České Radiokomunikace focuses solely on services for companies and cooperation. It meets the Czech National Bank decree requirements for operation. It is based on VMware, one of the most widespread virtualisation platforms. The current capacity of the environment is output of 10 THz CPU, operating memory of 24 TB, and data stores of 1 PB (PB is 1015 bytes). The standard service availability of 99.99%, embodied in an SLA, guarantees a maximum outage of approximately four minutes per month. Cloud is georedundant, meaning that, for increased reliability, IT services can be run parallel at two remote date centres.

Beyond the scope of conventional cloud

In combination with many other proprietary services, České Radiokomunikace creates very unique and efficient cloud solutions. By using CRA data and telecommunication services together with cybersecurity features it is possible to implement practically any customer solutions, including those that go far beyond conventional requirements. By far, not every provider offers or can do something like that.

Cloud self-service

Cloud services are configured via a web portal. Everything is self-service based; the agreement only sets out a minimum and maximum scope of services that can be used for each resource. Changes may be made any time, they are visible immediately. An overview of the current status and immediate information about the price are available.

For start-ups and new enterprises

CRA offers a cloud solution with a high dynamic range of services and minimal impact on price for start-up players. It is free of commitments and other fees that are often commonly charged by other providers. It includes CPU between 10 and 50 CPU, from 20 to 100 GB RAM, from 200 to 2,000 GB SSD disk memory, and 500 to 5,000 GB of NAS data storage. A guaranteed transmission speed of 100 Mb/s to the internet and a fixed public IPv4 address, together with the possibility of setting up one’s own context on the firewall guarantee high availability and security of the services, both for the user and its customers. In that way, a company that is just starting out or a small firm can thus comfortably build a reliable quality digital base for rapid development of its business.

Certainty is key

Nobody is 100% safe from a natural disaster, an accident, fatal human error, or cyber attack. That is why CRA’s cloud offer includes services for long-term data storage, back-up, and archiving, back-up IT operation services, and rapid IT recovery following an accident. In that way, clients can be certain that they will recover from such a disaster as fast as possible.

In the hands of experts

České radiokomunikace, operating on the market under the brand CRA, is one of the three largest Czech providers of IT services. Modern data centres in which cloud services are operated have been built with exceptional emphasis on availability and security. They are the only centres in the Czech Republic certified according to ANSI-TIA 942 and constitute part of the state’s critical infrastructure. CRA experts fully live up to their mission: “Being the most flexible of the largest providers”.
