Alza.cz to use serverhousing from České Radiokomunikace for its data
Starting in September 2017, Alza.cz will begin using serverhousing services from České Radiokomunikace (CRA).
Prague, 6. září 2017 – Starting in September 2017, Alza.cz will begin using serverhousing services from České Radiokomunikace (CRA). These services are offered via the largest and most modern equipped data centre operated by CRA – DC TOWER, located in the Prague-Žižkov district. CRA continues to build additional data halls and strives to increase the performance and capacity of its data centres to meet the high demand of new and existing customers. Just in terms of the DC TOWER alone, CRA has invested another tens of millions of crowns this year into expanding its services and improving quality.
“We continue to invest into our data centres, both in terms of increasing performance and capacity, as well as into technological advancements and increased security. We are glad to see reputable organizations and internet projects such as Alza.cz choose to use our services. We strive to meet the customers' demands as much as possible. Our data centres can offer tailor-made services exactly according to their needs,” says CRA Sales Director Miloš Mastník.
Alza.cz will use CRA serverhousing services to ensure increased security of their server infrastructure and with it provide a more secure and stable e-commerce operation.
“Our demand for data centre services, as well as the lease of computing power, is rapidly increasing. It is absolutely necessary for a company experiencing a similar growth as we are to increase security on a regular basis,” says Alza.cz Internal IT Director Jiří Schejbal, and adds: “We have a responsibility to customers, and in this sense, we do not intend to risk anything and therefore we have teamed up with a strategic and strong partner.”
The DC TOWER capacity will increase by 75 % by the end of 2017. Besides building new areas within the commercial data halls, private halls are also being expanded.
Part of the DC TOWER data centre is designated for CRA cloud services. This year saw an increase in performance and capacity with these services.
The technology area layout at the Žižkov TV tower, where the DC TOWER is located, meets strict security standards in terms of physical, operational and data security at a level of buildings of strategic significance.
CRA regularly invests into improving its infrastructure services. Besides increasing capacity, a lot of emphasis during renovation was primarily put on improving security measures ans also the gradual construction of private halls inside the tower facilities. By the end of 2016, CRA received TIA 942 certification. Unlike the more marketing-oriented TIER evaluation, this certification provides a more comprehensive evaluation, especially regarding the actual state of things. It was most likely the reason why this certification was chosen as a template for the forthcoming European standard for data centres. CRA is currently the only data centre operator in the Czech Republic and only the fourth in Europe that is TIA 942 certified.
